Osterport - Ringsted (KØR)

Minor extension of the capacity between Osterport Station and Ringsted

In order to solve the problem with local traffic bottlenecks on the section between Osterport Station and Ringsted, the Public Transport Authority is in charge of the initial analyses.

The aim is to achieve one of these results:

1.  Two additional passenger trains per hour in each direction between Copenhagen and Ringsted.
2.  Two additional goods trains on the section between Vigerslev and Ringsted.
3.  Improved regularity and fewer delays for the existing traffic.

Today the capacity is exhausted on the section, but it is possible that the implementing of the KØR-project might result in a combination of the outcomes listed above. In that case the increased capacity would be shared throughout the day to meet the demand particularly during rush-hours Monday through Friday.
